Our Process
1. Initial Fee Free Review
When we give financial advice, no two clients are the same.
For that reason, we always offer an initial fee free review with no obligation.
During your review, you’ll find out how we can help you meet your financial goals, what we can offer, and what our services are likely to cost.
2. We'll create a bespoke financial plan
The first step towards providing any sort of financial advice is creating a plan.
The more information we can get about you and your finances, along with your aims and objectives, the more accurate and useful this plan will be.
We use state of the art cash flow modelling systems created by a company called Voyant.
Our cash flow modelling systems collate information about all of your assets, pensions and investments to project your financial future.
If you’re on track to where you want to go – great! If not, we can figure out the best way of getting you where you want to be.
3. We'll put your plan into action.
Once we’ve created a financial plan that meets your aims and objectives, we’ll offer to put the plan into action.
This could involve transferring existing arrangements, or making new ones. It could also involve leaving some of your arrangements in place.
4. We'll be in touch when it's time to review.
You’ll typically be able to track your investments using an app or portal.
Most of our clients ask us to keep our eyes on their investments too. We’ll make sure your investment plan continues to fulfil it’s intended purpose and we typically touch base with our clients annually.
Questions we’re asked.
When is the best time to seek financial advice?
Most of our clients come to us at a point in their life where they have burning financial questions. For example, having just acquired a new business, having moved job recently, or as they move perilously close to retirement.
That being said, the best time to seek financial advice in our view is as soon as possible. Getting in touch sooner rather than later means your money has more time to grow, and any opportunities to make tax savings or cost savings can be made earlier.
Why can't I just do this myself?
It’s true that a small number of people do have the expertise, knowledge and composure to set up and manage a financial plan successfully themselves. However, we find that most benefit tangibly from our advice, be it from peace of mind of knowing your savings are protected and your advice insured, or from tax savings / investment growth.
Managing a financial plan is an ongoing endeavour, and you’ll need to adapt it as your financial position and goals change, you’ll also need to make sure you keep on top of any changes to tax rules and regulations.
I already have an adviser. Can you still help me?
We often speak to clients who have a financial adviser when they first approach us. We can always offer a second opinion on your financial arrangements.
If you feel that your adviser is not providing a sufficient level of service, and we think that our investment products can cater for your needs as well as, or better than your existing adviser, we might be able to transfer management of your financial plan to ourselves.
How do you give financial advice?
We start off by understanding what you want from your financial adviser, and explaining what we might be able to do to help you. This is done typically over the phone, or via a Teams meeting.
If we decide to work together, we’ll tailor a financial plan and investment solution aimed towards achieving your financial goals. This will take account of your responsibilities, investments, protection and tax planning.
Once we’ve got your plan up and running we’ll be in touch regularly to review your position. We’ll always be on hand to offer support and answer your questions.
Can I choose where to invest my money?
Our financial advice takes account of your priorities and attitudes towards risk, and your fund recommendation will reflect this.
Our financial advisers have access to a range of risk based investment model portfolios which have been put together by a specialist team of investment experts. This balances your risk exposure across stocks and shares and government bonds.
We also offer a range of specialist funds including Environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) funds, tracker funds and geographically specific funds.
Can I choose my adviser?
Yes, you can choose who you would prefer to work with, but all of our advisers are level 4 qualified and regulated to provide expert financial advice.
What protection do I have?
We don’t hold client money, other than any fees you pay us directly.
As for your investment, as you may know, there will almost always be a degree of risk – your fund may go down in value as well as up, and you may not get back what you invested. To help manage your risk exposure, we’ll always ask you to complete our risk profiler. This helps us determine which products might be right for you.
Your investment is also generally covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (www.fscs.org.uk)
We’re highly regulated for your peace of mind. This means that our advice is backed by professional indemnity insurance. We’re also a member of The Openwork Partnership, one of the largest financial advice networks in the UK.
If you’re ever unhappy with anything we do, please let us know so that we can resolve it quickly. If that doesn’t work for you, you can register a complaint through our network – The Openwork Partnership.
If you’re still not satisfied, you can contact the Financial Ombudsman Service (www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk).
What’s more, we have robust systems in place designed to protect your data. We’re registered with the ICO and any data you share with us is used only in accordance with our data protection disclaimer.
